What to Expect in a Lease To Own Consultation: How to Prepare and What Gets Covered (LTO)

Every lease to own deal at Royal Rentals starts with a consultation. It is where the details get settled: which vehicle, how the down payment works, what the term looks like and what happens next. Whether you want to drive an exotic without going through a bank, or you own one and want to sell it without accepting a wholesale offer, the consultation is the step that turns interest into a real plan.
This guide explains what to expect, what to have ready and what gets covered, so you can walk in prepared. You can see the full program on our Lease To Own page.
Why the Consultation Matters
Lease to own is not a one-size-fits-all product. Vehicles, prices and terms vary from car to car, and the local deals change every week. Instead of a long online application, Royal Rentals walks through your situation directly. Terms and approval details are provided during consultation, so this conversation is where you get real answers about a specific car.
If You Want to Buy: What to Have Ready
For buyers, the program is built around a few simple requirements, and there is no credit check. Before the consultation, have these ready:
A valid driver's license.
Full-coverage insurance, or a plan to put it in place for the vehicle.
Your down payment budget. The program uses a down payment of about 20 to 30 percent of the vehicle price. As an example from our page, a $100,000 car would need roughly $20,000 to $30,000 down.
The vehicles you are interested in, whether from our local deals or a specific model you want.
What Gets Covered for Buyers
In the consultation you will go through the vehicle you want, the down payment, the monthly payment and the term. The example vehicles on our page show a 12 to 24 month term with no early payoff penalty. You will also talk through insurance, the next steps to take delivery and anything specific to your situation. Terms and approval details are provided during consultation.
Special Orders
If the car you want is not in our local deals, you can request any model and we will work to procure it. Special orders are only taken when you are ready to move within the next 7 days, with a $1,000 refundable deposit to start. If you are not ready yet, it is better to wait, because we do not take future inquiries. That is a good thing to know before your consultation, so you can come in ready to decide.
If You Own an Exotic: What to Have Ready
For owners, the program is a different way to sell. You list your car for sale on our site while we rent it out, so it is making money until it sells. Depreciation, mileage and wear and tear don't impact you, the vehicle is covered, and Royal Rentals keeps it properly insured at all times while it is rented and advertised. Coverage details are provided during consultation.
Before your consultation, have these ready:
The vehicle's year, make, model, trim and current mileage.
The title and ownership details, including any loan on the car.
Service history and records of any modifications.
Good photos of the exterior and interior.
The price you are hoping to reach.
What Gets Covered for Owners
The consultation covers how your car will be listed and advertised, how it will be rented while it is for sale, how coverage works and what happens when it sells. Why sell your car for wholesale when you had to pay retail? It's a win-win: your car earns while it waits for the right buyer.
Buyer or Owner, the First Step Is the Same
Whichever side of the program you are on, the first step is to reach out and set up the conversation. Bring your questions, your numbers and the vehicle details, and expect a straightforward discussion about whether the program fits what you want. There is no obligation to move forward until the terms make sense for you.
Questions Worth Asking
For buyers: what the down payment, monthly payment and term are for this specific car, and how insurance needs to be set up.
For owners: how the car will be listed, how it will be rented and how coverage works while it is rented and advertised.
For both: what the next step is and how long it usually takes to get started.
