Corvette C8, Lamborghini Urus or G63: Which Luxury Car Should You Rent in Charlotte?

Silver Corvette C8 from the Royal Rentals Charlotte fleet, parked and ready for a weekend drive

Our Charlotte fleet is small and focused on purpose. Each car does something different: a mid-engine sports car, a super SUV and one of the most iconic off-road-styled luxury SUVs ever built. If you are renting in Charlotte and trying to decide between the Corvette C8, the custom black Lamborghini Urus and the Mercedes G63, this guide breaks down what each one is best at and how to match the car to your plans.

The Quick Comparison

Think about three questions: how many people are riding with you, how far you are driving, and what kind of impression you want to make.

Corvette C8: two seats, sports car feel, great for a couple or a solo drive.

Custom Black Lamborghini Urus: seating for a small group, supercar styling, the biggest arrival.

Mercedes G63: seating for a small group, iconic boxy design, bold but classic presence.

Corvette C8: The Driver's Choice

The Corvette C8 moved the engine behind the driver, giving America's sports car a true mid-engine layout and the look of an exotic. It is low, wide and eye-catching, and it is a great fit when the drive itself is the point.

Best For

Date nights, anniversaries and birthday drives for two.

A first supercar-style experience behind the wheel.

Day drives to Lake Norman or a scenic loop outside the city.

Keep in Mind

With two seats and limited luggage space, the C8 is not the car for a group or a lot of bags. For a weekend away, pack light.

Custom Black Lamborghini Urus: The Showstopper

The custom black Lamborghini Urus combines Lamborghini design with real SUV practicality. Its all-black look gives it a strong presence in Uptown, at a hotel entrance or in photos.

Best For

Celebrations, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and big arrivals.

Friends who want to ride together in something unforgettable.

Content shoots and special events.

Keep in Mind

The Urus draws attention everywhere it goes, which is part of the fun. Plan parking in well-lit garages and take ramps slowly. Some vehicles require drivers to be 25 or older, so confirm the age requirement when you book.

Mercedes G63: The Icon

The Mercedes G63 is instantly recognizable with its upright, boxy shape and bold stance. It feels luxurious inside and commanding on the road, which makes it a favorite for groups, business travel and weekends out.

Best For

Groups heading to dinner, a game or a night out.

Business trips where you want presence without a two-seat car.

Weekend trips where you need room for bags.

Keep in Mind

The G63 looks rugged, but our rental terms do not allow driving on unpaved surfaces, so keep your plans to paved roads, even on mountain trips.

Matching the Car to Your Charlotte Plans

A Weekend in Uptown and South End

For dinner reservations, rooftop bars and nights out, the Urus or G63 lets your group arrive together. If it is just two of you, the C8 makes the night feel special.

A Day Trip from Charlotte

Lake Norman, the Blue Ridge foothills and the drive toward the mountains are all popular. All three cars work well, but remember that the car must stay within a 200-mile radius of the pickup zip code, and daily mileage is 75 to 120 miles depending on the vehicle, with extra miles at $0.50 or $1. Plan your route with that in mind.

A Business Visit

The G63 is a strong pick for meeting clients, and our chauffeured Black Service is an option if you would rather work in the back seat while someone else drives.

A Celebration Weekend

Birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties and anniversaries are some of the most popular reasons to rent in Charlotte. If the whole group is riding together, the Urus is the headline car. If the celebration is for two, the C8 keeps the focus on the couple. Either way, book early for busy weekends and plan your photos for golden hour, when the light flatters every one of these cars.

Tips for Getting the Most From Your Rental

Pick up or receive the car early enough to get comfortable before your plans start. Adjust the seat and mirrors, learn the drive modes and take a short loop around the neighborhood. Delivery and return within 15 miles of our office are $60 each, which makes it easy to start the day from your hotel or home. Plan your return time with a buffer, since late returns cost $50 per 30 minutes.

Requirements That Apply to Every Car

Drivers must be 21 or older, and 25 or older for certain vehicles.

A valid driver's license and full coverage insurance in the same name, active until at least 7 days after the return.

A deposit held from 1 day before until 7 days after the rental, with $5,000 available. Debit card payments require a cash deposit.

Use 91 octane or higher fuel and return with the same fuel level or more.

No track use, racing, speed tests or demonstrations, and no driving over 100 mph.
