Birthday Rental Rules to Know Before You Book

A few of our rental terms come up often with birthday bookings. Full details are in our terms and conditions.

Age: drivers must be 21 or older, and 25 or older for certain vehicles. If the birthday is a 21st, check the requirement for the car you want before you plan around it.

License and insurance: a valid license and full-coverage insurance in the same name, active until at least 7 days after the return.

Deposit: the deposit is held from 1 day before until 7 days after the rental, and you need $5,000 available. If you pay by debit card, the deposit is made in cash.

Cleaning: cake, confetti, glitter and spilled drinks can mean extra cleaning. The cleaning fee is at least $60, so keep decorations and party supplies out of the cabin.

No smoking: smoking in the vehicle forfeits the entire deposit.

Driving limits: no racing, speed tests or demonstrations and no driving over 100 mph. Show off the car with photos, not speed.

Mileage: the car must stay within a 200-mile radius of the pickup zip code. Daily mileage is 75 to 120 miles depending on the vehicle, and extra miles are charged at $0.50 or $1 per mile.

Fuel: use 91 octane or higher and return the car with the same fuel level or more.

Late returns: late returns are charged $50 per 30 minutes. Plan your return for the day after the party, not the morning after a late night.

When to Book a Birthday Rental

Cancellations made 24 hours or more before pickup receive a full refund, while cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup are not refunded. There are no refunds or date changes for unexpected weather.
