Scottsdale Golf Trip Car Rental: Choosing a Luxury Ride for Your Desert Golf Getaway

Scottsdale is one of the most popular golf destinations in the country. From fall through spring, golfers fly in from colder climates for sunny mornings, desert course layouts and resort stays, and many groups plan their trips months in advance around tee times. Getting from the resort to the course and back is part of the experience, and a luxury rental makes that part feel like a vacation too. This guide covers how to pick the right vehicle for a Scottsdale golf trip, how to handle golf bags and groups, and what to know before you book.
Why Golf Season and Luxury Rentals Go Together
Golf trips are often built around a few busy days: an early tee time, lunch at the clubhouse, an afternoon at the pool and dinner somewhere memorable. Courses in Scottsdale and the surrounding area are spread out across North Scottsdale, the Fort McDowell area, the Salt River area and beyond, so you will spend real time in the car. A comfortable SUV or a car you have always wanted to drive makes those drives part of the fun.
Popular area courses include TPC Scottsdale, Troon North, Grayhawk, We-Ko-Pa and Talking Stick. Each has its own booking process, dress code and arrival time recommendations, so check with the course directly when you plan your tee times.
Choosing the Right Vehicle for Your Group
For a Foursome With Clubs: A Full-Size SUV
Four golfers, four bags and the day's gear take up a lot of room. Our full-size SUVs, the Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury and the Lincoln Navigator, are the most practical choices in our Scottsdale fleet for a group. Golf bags are bulky, so plan on folding part of the third row and confirm that everyone's bags and passengers fit before the first early morning.
For Two Golfers: A Luxury SUV With Presence
A pair of golfers has more options. The Bentley Bentayga offers a refined cabin and a quiet ride for a relaxed drive to the course. The Lamborghini Urus combines SUV practicality with supercar character, and the Mercedes G63 brings its iconic boxy look to the valet stand. Bag space varies by vehicle, so check that your clubs fit before you commit.
For the Evening: A Supercar
Two-seat supercars like the Ferrari 488 Spider and the McLaren 720S Spider have very little luggage space, so they are not built for hauling golf bags. They are built for everything else. Many golfers rent an SUV for the course days and add a supercar for a sunset drive or a special dinner on the final night of the trip.
Planning Your Golf Trip Driving Days
Early Tee Times
Desert golf often starts early, especially on warm days. Plan to pick up your vehicle the day before your first round, so you are not rushing through paperwork before dawn. Our hours are 8 AM to 9 PM daily.
Distances Between Courses and Resorts
The Valley is large. A round in North Scottsdale and dinner in downtown Phoenix can add up to a lot of miles in one day. Daily mileage is 75 to 120 miles depending on the vehicle, and extra miles are charged at $0.50 or $1 per mile. If your trip includes courses spread across the region, add up your planned drives before you book.
The 19th Hole
The round is over, and the group heads to the clubhouse or out for drinks. Decide who is driving before the first drink. A designated driver or a rideshare keeps everyone safe, and the car can be picked up the next morning.
Golf Trip Rules That Matter
A few of our rental terms are especially relevant to golfers:
Cleaning fee: golf shoes, grass, sand and spilled drinks can mean extra cleaning. The cleaning fee is at least $60, so keep shoes and gear in a bag rather than loose in the cabin.
No smoking: smoking in the vehicle, including a celebratory cigar after a good round, forfeits the entire deposit.
Paved roads only: no driving on unpaved surfaces, which includes dirt service roads and unpaved lots.
Fuel: use 91 octane or higher and return the vehicle with the same fuel level or more.
Late returns: late returns are charged $50 per 30 minutes, so plan your return around your flight and leave extra time on the final day.
What You Need to Book
Drivers must be 21 or older (25 or older for certain vehicles) with a valid license and full-coverage insurance in the same name, active until at least 7 days after the return. One additional driver is allowed if they are named on the contract and sign it, which is helpful for golf groups sharing driving duties. The deposit is held from 1 day before until 7 days after the rental, and you need $5,000 available. If you pay by debit card, the deposit is made in cash. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
Delivery and return within 15 miles of the office cost $60 each, which can be convenient if your group is staying at a nearby resort.
Tips for a Smooth Golf Trip Rental
Book early. Fall through spring is peak season in Scottsdale for both golf and luxury rentals, and the most popular vehicles book up first.
Match the vehicle to the group, not just the look. Four golfers in a two-seat supercar does not work, but a full-size SUV for the course and a supercar for the final night can.
Weather does not change your booking. There are no refunds or date changes for unexpected weather, so if your trip is set, plan around the forecast rather than counting on rescheduling.
Cancel early if plans change. Cancellations made 24 hours or more before pickup receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup are not refunded.
