Charlotte Race Week Car Rental: How to Arrive in Style for NASCAR Weekends

Silver Corvette C8 with black wheels, available to rent from Royal Rentals in Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte is the heart of American stock car racing. The NASCAR Hall of Fame stands in Uptown, many race teams are based in the region, and Charlotte Motor Speedway in nearby Concord hosts some of the sport's biggest weekends, including the Coca-Cola 600 over Memorial Day weekend. When race fans come to town, the city takes on a different energy. A Charlotte race week car rental lets you be part of it, and arrive somewhere that matters in a car that fits the moment.

Why Race Week Calls for a Special Car

A race weekend is about more than the race. There are Uptown dinners, hospitality events, the Hall of Fame and nights out with friends who have flown in from across the country. Pulling up in a Lamborghini or a G63 fits a weekend that celebrates great cars.

One rule to know up front: race week is for watching racing, not doing it. Our Terms & Conditions do not allow rental vehicles on a track, in race related activities or speed tests, or above 100 mph. Enjoy the cars on public roads, and leave the racing to the professionals.

Charlotte Race Week Car Rental: Picking Your Car

The Showstopper: Custom Black Lamborghini Urus

If you want to make an entrance, our Custom Black Lamborghini Urus is the car to book. It has the attitude of a supercar, room for passengers and a look that fits right in at a race weekend.

The Icon: Mercedes G63

The Mercedes G63 is instantly recognizable and comfortable for a full day of driving between Uptown, your hotel and the speedway area. It works equally well for a business dinner and a night out.

The Driver's Car: Corvette C8

For American performance fans, the Corvette C8 Silver is a natural pick on a race weekend. Its mid-engine layout and sharp styling make it a favorite for couples and solo travelers who want a true sports car.

Planning Your Race Weekend

Book as Early as Possible

Major race weekends bring large crowds to the Charlotte area, and the most popular cars are reserved early. As soon as your tickets and travel are set, reserve your car.

Plan Around Traffic

Big race days mean heavy traffic around the speedway in Concord. Many fans leave their rental at the hotel and use the car for the rest of the weekend: Uptown dinners, the Hall of Fame and events away from the track. If you do drive to the speedway, leave plenty of time and know your parking plan in advance.

Let Someone Else Drive the Big Night

If your plans include a late celebration, consider our chauffeured Black Service for the evening. Your rental can stay parked while a professional driver gets everyone where they need to go.

Keep an Eye on Miles and Time

Each rental includes 75 to 120 miles per day depending on the vehicle, with additional miles billed at 50 cents or $1 per mile. Late returns are charged $50 for every 30 minutes, so plan your return around the post-race traffic.

Beyond the Speedway: Charlotte on Race Week

Race week is a great time to see the rest of the city. Start with the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Uptown, where exhibits cover the sport's history, its legends and the cars that defined each era. Spend an evening in Uptown or South End for dinner and drinks, and if you have an extra day, drive north toward Lake Norman and Mooresville, which is known as Race City USA because of the race teams based in the area. A comfortable luxury car makes it easy to fit all of it into one weekend, and it is a far better way to see the region than waiting for rideshares in race traffic.
